The Neighborhood Outreach Tutoring Ministry is a great way to get to know children and families in the neighborhood where we serve. Tutoring is a highly relational and growing ministry at West End Presbyterian Church. While academics are important, our main goals with the tutoring ministry are relational—we seek to love and care for students in Jesus’ name and to point them to Christ. Over the years, we’ve found that parents and teachers come to us asking for their student to have a tutor; and, sometimes, students even ask for a tutor themselves!
We ask all WEPC tutors to commit to tutoring one hour one day per week. All tutoring happens within the WEPC building. Because tutoring is a ministry of our church and not an overly structured program, tutors may need to call and remind their student about tutoring as well as drive his/her student to and from tutoring. This ministry is a great way to share Jesus’ love and become involved in the life of a child in our neighborhood. If you are interested in offering one hour per week to meet with a child from the Neighborhood, please let us know!
