Membership

Membership at WEPC

We hope West End Presbyterian Church can be a place you call home. We have found that there are three key things that foster a sense of belonging in our church.
  • Be Equipped. We encourage each member to find a place in addition to the worship service to be equipped to grow in their understanding of their faith, the scriptures and their gifts.
  • Take a Risk. We invite each member to serve in a ministry of the church.
  • Pray for God’s Kingdom. We invite each member to join us as we earnestly pray that the Lord would use WEPC in the transformation of our church, our city, and the world.
Membership at WEPC involves five steps:
  1. Attend our Inquirer’s Weekend (occurs 2-3x/year).
  2. Contact Ann Long, Director of Administration, for a link to our membership application or a printed copy.
  3. Upon completion of the application, your application will be sent to one or more Elders and they will call you to set up a membership interview. These interviews generally last 30-60 minutes. The Elder team will want to hear about your faith, confirm your understanding of the membership vows, and answer any of your questions about our church.
  4. Once your interview is complete, your application will be prayed over and reviewed by our Session.
  5. Finally, you will be contacted about a Sunday to take your membership vows publicly in one of our worship services.

For those interested in learning more about our church and the possibility of membership in the future (membership does give an individual a vote in all congregational meetings). Inquirer’s Weekend offers an informal gathering to meet our pastors in a group setting and learn some foundations of Christianity, foundations for our church’s worship, and opportunities for connection and service with others.
